Winchester 94 in 30-30. First take a good hunter/firearms safety class. After you complete the course, take your rifle to the range and practice, practice, practice. After the rifle is adjusted at the 25 yards targets. shoot at various ranges out to 60 yards. I do not recommend any shots at more than 60 yards. To big a chance of wounding the animal and having to track it for a long distance all the while the animal is suffering, and you don’t want that. Go to an look for prices.
Good Luck

good on your dad for getting you into it!
that would depend on how much recoil you can handle and how good-a shot you are, i would reccomend a 30 cal for a beginner. (30/30, 30-06, .303, .308, 7.62×39)
personally 7.62×39, a semi automatic (saiga or similar) is fast handling, has minimal recoil, is accurate out to 100yds+, and would probably suit you nicely. ammunition is cheap and readily available.
otherwise .270 is quite common, it has damn long legs and a good whack, but the whack goes both ways (into your shoulder & down the barrel) and i personally dont like shooting with it.
that all said i have a friend who shoots deer with a .223. i think the cartridge is too small, but they end up just as dead so it really comes down to preference.
ask your dad, try out his rifles, and his mates rifles, find something you like. they may even sell it to ya as a good second-hander.

You should start with a small caliber rifle ,take hunter safety course and learn gun safety. Go to or set up a range to practice shooting.practice , practice and practice some more until you are a very good shot. You have no Business shooting at wild game until you can take it with one shot.Squirrels or some other small game would be a good place to start before moving up to deer. Not enough can be said about gun safety.A .22 caliber rifle is what you should probably start with.

A 30/30 would be ideal.

there are many calibers of guns out on the market. Think about your size (person wise) and also think about the size of the deer in your area of hunting. I use a 300 Winchester Mag and i hunt in south Texas. This gun is kinda big for south texas because the deer are not that big. And like other people have said Gun Safety before any thing. You may also get with your dad and ask him to see if some of his buddies would be interested in letting you shoot their rifle. Try different calibers till you find one that suits you. Another good rifle is a .25-06 and a 22-250. Happy Hunting.

Howa has a reasonably priced package gun that includes both a full size and youth sized stock. A .243 or .308 would serve you very well for many years.

A pellet rifle. You are not mature enough for a deer hunt, leave that to your dad until u are 18, then buy your own damn rifle, and prove that you are better than he was. After you have learned to skin several animals in a professional way, (youtube) and know how to prepare them for consumption and cure the hide for later use, then it is time for you to go hunting. Sometimes it takes guts for the right to gut. It is imperative that you gain the respect of all animals needed for hunting, by using the pellet rifle for a few years, you will understand the heart ache involved in shooting and not being able to recover the game, they get away buddy, at your hand you mame an innocent creature, who will not be your prize or your meal, just your concscience also you will develop great accuracy from this small caliber rifle, (try the Crossman ck177 retail $150 or the Gamo whisper).

Depending on your size, and if you’re only looking at hunting deer… I would say a .223, a .243, or a .270. That’s if you’re only looking at making a shot out to about 300 yards. Definitely take a hunter safety class and study up on it a little bit though before you go. And definitely sight your rifle in and practice before you go.
